WHEEL & TIRE SIZE, OFFSET, RUB/NO RUB Index and Gallery

Hi All,
As most have realized our forum is one of the few, if not the only, with out a wheel and tire section.

I thought we could start a thread which serve as an index of wheel/ tire sizes & offsets, rub/ no rub, recommended, and gallery.

I actually had quite the learning curve with my 19x10 wheels. I saw another member running et 25 with out any issues so I said what the heck, ill give it a shot. I found a wheel with et 22 and again was like, what the heck, ill give it a shot.

The end result was disappointing to say the least. My rears stuck out to the point I could see them in my side mirrors!

I actually put them up for sale the next day. But being impatient on the sale I ended up buying new rears the following week.

Anyways with help from Wheeldude, **********s, and Tirerack as well as fellow members I went with a et 37.

BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!! I feel in love with the set up immediately. Now they actually fit the car physically and visually.

Anyways here are my specs. Hope this helps out other members looking to upgrade. Also hope this thread sticks and builds!! Best of luck!

first set up...
CAR: 2013 35IS
Suspension: stock
Wheels:
Linea Corse LC8181
f: 19x8.5 et 30
r: 19x10 et 22

TIRES:
Continental Extreme Contact DWS
f: 245/ 35/ 19
r: 275/ 30/ 19

RUB/NO RUB/ POKE/ FLUSH:
Yes, on high speed dips, hard cornering. Flush in the front, Poke on the rears.

RECOMMEND:
No, not with et22.

second set up
CAR: 2013 35IS
Suspension: stock
Wheels:
Linea Corse LC8181
f: 19x8.5 et 30
r: 19x10 et 37

TIRES:
Continental Extreme Contact DWS
f: 245/ 35/ 19
r: 275/ 30/ 19

RUB/NO RUB/ POKE/ FLUSH:
No Rub, flush all the way around.

RECOMMEND:
Yes with et37. The rims are great for the deep concave look, Great for cruising, no so much track. But I would say the car feels great, better on the high way compared to stock, and more nimble.

FYI,
Here is the old thread, you can see how bad the rears stuck out.

Nice job. This really helps me out as I am a complete novice to correct wheel/tire size and offset and what does and does not work. I hope that this thread gains traction. (Sorry for the bad joke) I need more coffee.

I hope so too. The E46 , E90, and M3 forums have something similar, but people actually participate. Lol.

Looks great

I'm thinking about changing my wheels, and this is exactly the kind of thread I needed!

How is the 245 up front? I know it won't rub when the car is not in motion and most likely won't on smooth pavement. I noticed you live in NY though... not the best kind of roads (from Jersey myself). How are they on bumpy roads/speed bumps? Any issues with rubbing for the front?

Hi Cedar. To date I have no issues with this set up front, rears seem to be fine. I'll let you know after my next track day if u see or hear anything.

I'll also take pics if any rubbing occured on inside the tires at the end on the season.

Well, I got my 245/35/19s and 275/30/19s installed... and just like the OP confirmed for me, there is no rubbing issue whatsoever on stock Adaptive M Suspension even on uneven roads and speed bumps. This set-up seem to clear the wheel well very well (no pun intended) too.

Vossen CV2 20' with H&R springs 295/25/20 in the rear and rubs. The front with 245/30/20 is fine. Sits flush all around.

Hello, I am upgrading my tires on my 2013 Z4 3.5IS Sport Package. It has 19" Wheels and is currently running 225/35R19 Front and 255/30R19 Rear. I was talking to a BMW Mechanic and he advised me to Consider 245/30R19 Front and 275/30R19 Rear. However, after more research I see that some are recommending 245/35R19 in lieu of the 245/30R19 for the front. I am curious about should I go with the 245/35 or 245/30? Opinions would be greatly appreciated. I plan to Run Michelin Super SportZP Tires (Run Flats). Thoughts...Opinions?
