BRAVO! Hopefully we will see the concept before the end of this year. I did remember reading on GCZ that the next gen 1series and new Z2 will be quite edgy.

I love this concept and I would probably buy one assuming the pricepoint is right. But I wonder, in this economic climate, do you guys think a small roadster like this would sell? I'm already worried about the Z4 selling. Either way, if BMW did produce this car I would likely buy one.

Wow that thing is funky.

I bet it would sell. Think of the EPA ratings. And it would be an autocrossers dream if its actually light like they are saying.

Definitly!!! I like the forward facing front grill like the 507 and the 1970s BMWs. This car also reminds me of the mille concept car they put out that was a mix of the z4 and old BMWs of past. I have to say I love the thin headlamps too, but I could see alot of controversy with that. But so what, I think the overall package as working very well and a success for BMW on the books.

They just have to keep the car lightweight, easier said then done!

This would be a soft top and hardtop variant sidebyside? Like the Z3 and current Z4? I also wouldn't mind seeing an M variant

that looks ridiculous , instead of making a SL and CL rival and a true supercar like SLR and Carrera GT , they are making stuff that no one is paying attention to anymore , a honda s2000 and mazda mx look alike mini stuff.....horrible a true horror Ill say

I like the look of the coupe. New Z4 is more mature, this is younger and more playful.

Dunno 'bout 507 cues, that's a whole different league AFAIC, but that coupe rendering is balls-out gorgeous...

The weight should really be in check too. I mean the base 2010 Z4 comes in at 3214. It would be really sad if BMW couldnt make a 2900lb little roadster. An MX-5 comes in around 2500lb...I think.

Rear looks AMAZING in that rendering, but the front is way too funky for my taste. Looks like they used more of the solstice in that pic than anything else.
