Z4 on track
Hi,
If I buy a Z4 coupe, will I be able to fit in it comfortably whilst wearing a crash hat? I am 6 feet 2 inches tall. The car will just have the standard seat. Thanks |

I am 6ft 2, too. and I have about 1ft left on top when the seat is in the lowest position.
So I don't think wearing helmet is going to be a problem.

I didn't have any problems with mine, though I'm only 5'11. The seat goes pretty low, though I don't have electric seats and I know that affects how low some seats go.

Depends a bit on your body type. I am 6'-1" and my helmet just barely rubs on the ceiling in my M coupe with the electric seats. I do have a long torso though.

Are you referring to the E89?
If it is E89, you might have an issue if your club has a "Reference plane" requirement or convertible restrictions. for BMWCCA here in the US, the reference plane is defined as top of front suspension to top of roll hoop, and there must be 1" clearance between helmet and this plane. Some clubs have a "broomstick" test (top of windshield to top of roll hoop) that is easier to pass. And to make it more complex, some clubs like BMWCCA in some states, just outright have a no convertibles without aftermarket roll cage and harness. Personally, I wouldn't go for E89 as a track toy (i have a E89 35i with dct and adaptive suspension) because of rules issues such as the above and N54 limp mode Good luck |
