Bluetooth Compatibility

My newer Samsung S7 is not compatible with my 07 z4 with BT. In fact not many phones are. Is there an update or any fix?

Take out the old head unit (keep it to one side for re-installing when it comes time to sell the Z) and fit a new head unit with built-in Bluetooth that compliments the interior.

I no longer have my 2012 Z4, but I know that customers can update the car's software to support newer phones. I did that at least 2x myself. It was a bit of a hassle because of the size USB stick and how it needed to be formatted, but it's otherwise relatively easy to do. Got an iPhone to work that way. I doubt BMW is still developing for the E89 but if things don't work right, a software update may still help?

If I remember correctly, that used to be in the Owners section on bmwusa.com after logging in. A quick search on this forum or maybe someone else can chime in?

OK, an 07 is an e85/6 not an e89 so totally different set-up.
As far as I'm aware you cannot update the software for the bluetooth connectivity on the Business head unit (hence my comment above for changing the whole unit out), but you could fit this..... which keeps it OEM looking and will work with modern phones....
