top right (US passenger) side always makes a rock-hitting-windshield sound. Normal?

I've had the car for 3 years and the sound from top right (US passenger) side with top up always makes a rock-hitting-windshield sound or a loud click that seems to more frequent as time goes on.

I'll sit in the car engine off, in a 2-car parking garage *rock hits windshield sound*

Car in idle at red light *rock hits windshield sound*

Car barreling through the freeway *rock hits windshield sound*

I have no idea if I should be worried. A vision inspection says everything looks fine. I even suspected it could be a tweeter speaker doing it.

Sometimes, the “rock hitting the windshield”sound, is just a rock hitting the windshield.

Perhaps the latching mechanism is misaligned. Mine was doing that for awhile. Same side too. I decided to lubricate the latch with silicone spray. That fixed it for me.

It's the window trim expanding, spray some lub around all the joints.
It sounds like small pieces of grit hitting windshield, but isn't.
