Im not in the UK with my Z4, But Im from scotchland originally, came out to Qatar back in 2007, bought a Mustang and ran that till July 2010 when I sold the 'tang and took my Z4, just in time for the cold winter weather out here and can get the roof down, summer is 50 degrees celcius plus but winter is a comfy 30ish. Great for the tan.

Hi,
Just joined and thought to introduce myself. I have placed an order for a Z4 sDrive23i Highline Auto. The car should be completed for collection towards the mid to end of July coming. I've many interests, one being cars, despite the fact that I know more male enthusiasts than women enthusiasts. I live in Newport Gwent South Wales, work just outside of Newport and looking forward to being part of the forum. Best wishes Last edited by LadyUK; 06-17-2011 at 01:46 PM.. Hello!
Just ordered by first Z4 - an sDrive28i manual, with quite a few goodies. I'm really looking forward to driving it away in September!
I'm currently driving a factory-tuned 275bhp Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8T V6, which certainly doesn't have the balance of a Z4, but is comfortable and quick, albeit with moderately poor fuel economy and terrible emissions. I used to have an '06 Mini Cooper S, which was a riot to drive but uncomfortable on long journeys and terribly, terribly thirsty: I generally averaged 19mpg! In coming to the Z4 sDrive28i, I test drove an sDrive23i (lovely car, but didn't really have enough torque for me), an sDrive30i auto (superb engine, still not sold on automatics although they're nice and smooth), an Audi TTS manual (way too peaky, and almost scarily quick), an Audi TT flappytronic (smooth, unexciting, crap ride, and not really any more practical than the Z4), and a Jaguar XF (more torque than a train, very smooth, doesn't feel like you're connected to the road, incredibly comfortable, but also unexciting). I was about to settle on an sDrive30i when I read about the 28 and thought "You know what? more torque, better acceleration, better fuel economy and lower car tax? I'd be mad not to wait." The dealer was good enough to honour the deal I'd got on the sDrive30i and give me the new "media pack" spec upgrade, so it worked beautifully for me. Hi all, last weekend I picked up a six month old sDrive35i with just 360 miles on the clock. Someone bought it as a Christmas present and it wasn't wanted by the lucky recipient. Rather pleased with my decision

Well i've taken the plunge and should pick mine up next week.
Previous car was MGTF and enjoyed that as my first soft top. But three years down the line thought about getting a mk1 Z4. Just that they seemed a bit dated, especially the interiors and the hood seemed a bit like on a pram. Only discovered the new Z4 as i pass one everyday on a car park. Deep sea blue. Probably the only car were i thought, "now thats a nice car!" Well now i can blame this forum for totally convincing me to go for it. 23i deep sea blue white nappa interior, i was taken by the quality of the interior, so be interesting to see how long i can live with it. Change of plan bought an Orion silver, much better deal, also looks like your getting more car as it looks bigger and even though its dirty, still looks clean! Newbie as well. Bought my 23i last August... What a year it's been. I've enjoyed driving those 8k miles and get loads of compliments on the car.
Was previously driving a mkiii MR2, and before that a smart fortwo (!). Have virtually every option but iDrive. I have all the other Bluetooth options and only realised that iDrive gives streaming music over Bluetooth. I thought it was just for sat nav :-( Otherwise a pleasure to drive. |

Having owned a MINI Cooper S for nearly 7 years (which I loved driving, apart from the rock hard ride) I decided the time was right for an upgrade. I ordered my Z4 sDrive35i M Sport in July 2011. It's deep sea blue, with sat nav/iDrive, and I upgraded the alloys to the 19in 326's as they look a lot better in my opinion, but they ride a bit harder than the standard 18's. Just as well I asked for the suspension to be downgraded to standard from the rock hard M Sport then. It has a beige leather interior with black anthracite headlining and the seats electrically adjust. Left out most other options, except the iPod connection.
Any regrets? In hindsight I should have specced Adaptive Suspension and PDC (had a minor dent at the back, since fixed). Upgraded sound system might have been a good idea, but I have no qualms with my standard system so not sure why it gets such bad reviews in the main forum. Issues: roof mechanism broke after 1 year, fixed under warranty (took 5 days), squeaking windows after 18 months, fixed under warranty, various rattles, some fixed under warranty, one stubborn one remains that no one can fix. Despite all the issues it's still feels exciting to drive every time is go out in it, and live how it feels like a completely different car when the roof is down, almost like 2 cars for price of one (... Ed ok, no, but hopefully you know what I mean). And the sound out the exhausts from the turbo straight six is so nice I often have the radio off when the roof is down. 8000 miles so far and I reckon I'll hang on to it for another 4-5 years yet. |

Business CD
Hi, Just purchased a 2003 Z4 3.0i 6 speed manual. The business cd played when it felt like it for the first couple weeks, but now just cuts in for a few seconds at a time. The system continues to cycle even when no sound is heard and even changes disc when on shuffle. This morning however, while cleaning the car, I found that the system works fine when the engine is not running. Is this a common fault and does anyone have a solution??
Kind Regards Rob |

Not very busy on here I'm afraid, but welcome! I spend most of my time on the F30 UK section as it's a lot busier and chattier!
