Exhaust getting louder?

I have a 2011 E89 35i. Right now im at about 15,000 miles, basically been driving it almost exactly 1 year. Typically drive it in Sport using the shifter to go between gears, don't think ill ever get used to the paddles...
I don't know if it's just me and my girl but she said the exhaust sounded a lot more "broken in", gurgles more, just louder in general, in a good way. I think it sounds louder also.
Does this happen after a breaking a vehicle in or is it just our imaginations?

In my experience, mufflers tend to open up a bit with use so I'd say your perception is correct...

Mine got significantly louder after its first service at about 15000 miles. They also updated the software, so I assume that was the cause of it. It's positively flatulent now.
