E89 intermittent a/c function

2011 z4. A/C works intermittently. Blows cold up to thermostat setting, compressor disengages and never comes back on. Have to turn off A/C for 2-5 min after which it cools nicely again. Checked refrigerant - right charge, right pressure. Replaced pressure sensor. No resolution. Let wife drive my lowly Toyota and I drove her BMW. Love to hate that SOB, no matter how nicely it handles. Am going to try master reset. Not hopeful.
