iPhone Audio
I am looking for advice.
I have base stereo with no ipod interface, simply Aux In. I used to use a Griffin AutoPilot which charged my ipod Touch and provide an Aux-out. However, this is not compatible with the iPhone. So I bought a Kensington Liquid Aux as this is compatible and has the added benefit of a remote control. However, there is a really strong 'hiss' from this adaptor. At one stage I could wiggle the aux lead and the hiss would go away but now it is there permanently. If I plug the Griffin adaptor in and get past the iPhone warning message, there is absolutely no interference. So I am looking for a new solution and have a few questions: 1) Does anyone know of an iPhone compatible Charger/Aux out device that doesn't suffer from interference? 2) If I get the ipod retrofit kit from BMW, I presume I can control my iPhone from the head unit (and the MFSW) but can I also still use the iPhone interface? (Or does it show a screen saying it's plugged into an interface). 3) I used to use Dension ice>links because I they could be set to use the ipod UI so you got the benefit of that, plus using the car head unit controls to fast forward/rewind and it fed the audio through the cd changer interface. However, Dension website doesn't seem to show any modern BMWs and not a lot about iPhone compatibility. Does anyone know of kit similar to this that plugs into the Head Unit? Help!
