Vent Control Illumination

These controls are not illuminated.
On my other BM they have the standard BMW Orange backlighting.

Any views here?
I don't think this is an option.....?!

I did not have the vent controls illuminated in any way with either my '03 or '06 Z4.

Nor on the X3 or any 5 series I've had.
