Lithium grease for aluminum threads?

I have a lot of aluminum replacement parts for my N54 e89 Z4 such as the BMS oil filter cap with magnet. I hate the fact that there's aluminum on aluminum contact, so can I use a little lithium grease to lube the threads so I don't cause shavings and protect the threads? I know these engines run hot, but lithium grease has a high temperature range of 300 degrees F and my engine doesn't go over 250 even under heavy loads and constant stress.

Just curious.

Appreciate your time and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Wouldn't that affect torque setting?

You can use lithium or silicone grease…torque setting are upset but they originally assumed a plastic filter housing anyway..

Copper grease is not recommended it could incur electrolytic corrosion …

Thanks for the info! I was thinking of silicone grease as an alternative as well. Yeah, copper grease is a no go.

Appreciate it!
