New digital cluster for the E89

Given the remarkable visual similarities between Carlife and Acarvani, I too reckon it’s the same platform, perhaps even the same company with 2 DBAs.

No, you are limited to the ones shown. There is a way to update software, whether they'll incorporate additional themes I couldn't say..

A little update.

Firstly my 1 week review has been delayed, there are a few reasons for this, in no particular order...
It took more than a week to get the original installation video out
I've found something out!!**
I'm going on holiday and now don't have time to complete it.
I've received a couple of questions after I did the initial filming that I'd like to include in it.

So it's going to be a one month review, not to worry though.

** I've found something out!... Well I've had a few people ask me about the car image. So you'll notice in the video that there wasn't one, although it was a setting. Well I've asked about this and it turns out that they are creating a E89 Z4 specific image that can be uploaded to the cluster and used. So I'm awaiting for that to be done and the arrival of the update USB cable that I didn't receive in the first place. So hopefully by the time I'm back off hoilday I'll have both of those so can film it and then get the review uploaded.

And update No/ 2 - Everything is still going all OK, no issues with the cluster at all

Not that reflective in person. The videos makes look like that. Drove with the top down and up in daylight and no issues

UPDATE**

OK so I received the cable while I was away and also the update file.
File loaded very easily onto the cluster and we now have a few extra options....

Another heightened cluster size. Previously you could choose from E series of F series, this just basically moved the fuel tank and oil temp pictograms from inside the gauge to outside, but this is now lower than before. You now also have an E87 look, which is just the same as before with the same height.

On the left of the line below the digital MPH gauge you now have the correct colour band with an M logo on it.

Then you have the doors open pictogram in the centre. Different to the little red car on the far right that just shows both doors open, this is individual to which door of boot lid is open. In Sport+ theme this still appears in the centre but pushes the digital sppped up a bit. It's on temporary.

Now to the car image.... This can be set to different colours, but the disappointment here is that it's a G29 and not an E89 This appears in the centre of the screen between the speedo and rev counter, or to the left in Sport+ Theme.

I have been running this cluster for about a month and no issues and it’s working great. Gives a much more modern feel to my 12 year old car.

Mileage is stored in more than one place so it’s not an issue..

The WhatsApp chat is been responsive for me with Carlife Mall he is checking with a E89 owner he sold a E9X unit to see if he is having any issues and it it works correctly. the price he quoted me is 550 for E9X and 650 for E89 specific one

I'm rather sure they are all made in the same factory so regardless of which seller you get them from its prob the same units.(just my thought)

Which one did you buy? Big difference in price between $880 and $650.

OK so checking on the Carlife Mall website they are still not advertising the E89 digital cluster yet, which is odd.

And as far as the guy who installed the E90 cluster, still no response since December (actually hasn't posted since then although has been on the forum even as recent as this week!) so I've no idea as to how well it went.

Meanwhile, mine is still running strong

The website mentions non destructive installation, have they solved the need to trim the two tabs?

$960 shipped to the US. It’s a great looking product, but pricing is kinda steep.
