Back Up Warning

Greetings. My first post. Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
I have a bare bones 2011 E89, 30i. There is no screen, just the storage box on the dash. I would like any suggestions regarding a back up warning sound. I don't care about a camera, just the simplest device that will warn me when I am about to back into something. It doesn't even have to play the sound through the speakers, (although that would be better), but just loud enough so I can hear it. A link to any suggested devices would be great. Thx.

You've got a couple of options....

You can go aftermarket, here's a video I did a few years ago, just ignore the camera and screen parts of it.....

It has a separate speaker which works very well.

Or you could go fully OE and do a PDC retrofit...

This can work in conjunction with the standard headunit so doesn't need the screen. You can also just fit the rear and ignore the front part and switch, so makes it easier and cheaper.
