Guaranteed knowledge? Absolutely in advance. The times I got the jump on other people with foreknowledge was absolutely classic. Especially when they didn't have any CLUE that I knew what they were going to do that was underhanded/sneaky.

The look on their faces will last with me to my grave...

And that feeling that they got that I knew they were a conniving/scheming lowlife and was PREPARED for their backstabbing lasted with them until theirs... literally.

I think a better question would be; would you want to know in advance if there was no way you could change the course?

This is quite the paradox because you could create the end result trying to keep from it, and all the time from this day to that you'd be eaten up with that knowledge.

In that case I'd rather be blindsided than have it eat at me every minute of every day until it happened, knowing all the while there was nothing I could do to stop it.

I don't like your paradox. While you may not EVER be able to change the course, you can always change what you do IN RESPONSE. Like I said, I had faced a few of these, of the "I know what's going to happen", and my prepared responses were priceless of what happened to me LATER. I would have missed a few opportunities that have been life changing for me during those times, had I not known what was coming.

Not the same paradox, but definitely the same issue.
