We don’t really know…the wheel man says I must have swiped a curb ..but…AFAIK I haven’t…several very bad potholes….whether a bad pothole entered on the edge twisted the rim and then the spoke..

He’s very good at recovering bent wheels but this one was not one of them…..looking at making a coffee table out of it now…

Used wheels are never worth the price unless they are direct take offs

I know too much heat in a powder coaters oven can cause this.

In this case not probable..

The wheels when they were new were finished in Satin Black....the first re-furb was just gloss black blown over with no power coat..

A front and rear had been straightened by this chap earlier in the year..but I can't say whether that was one of them or the one of the other pair..

He did say they were pretty tough as after market wheels go..they are the flow formed variant...

The wheel lips must of been if pretty bad shape to have hit hard enough to bend spokes.

I was a little nervous when I pick up the wheels with the tires mounted. The tire doesn't stick out, but the rim protector stuck our more than I had anticipated. I drove the car 50 miles today and things went pretty well. No major rubbing, but I did hear the rear drivers side tire touch twice. There wasn't an issue in the fronts (and I've turned lock to lock). I still need to get an alignment and check the inside. These felt like liner can rub with no noise.
