Cameras

Just installed my back up cam... works great with the OEM curving lines...I wired up for a front camera also. Wondering where folks have installed their front ones... in the grill, front bumper, etc.

Thanks

Which camera did you use? Did it integrate with the car's system? I want to install one.

I bought a emulator box on aliexpress for CIC E9X and cheap cameras from Amazon

You will need to splice some wires but it's not very hard if your handy work car wiring... it's a chore to run the cable up to the front HU.

I think I'd try a wireless camera set up if I had to do it again

I am having a challenge with a delay in the back in screen returning to normal...it takes about 20 to 30 seconds... not a big deal considering the convenience of front and rear cameras

Here are some shots of front and rear install and screenshots. You can see how the rear camera image dynamic grid is angled too high. Otherwise it accomplishes what I was looking for

I was thinking of putting the front camera in the lower faux air inlet (on the 35i the other is used for the oil cooler)…it’s offset but I wonder if it will provide an adequate view..

I’m going to fit one of the rear cameras integrated into the number plate light..

Check the angle of the camera in thy number plate light. You might find it points to the ground a bit to much as it's at least 12"+ lower to the ground then most mounted on the trunk lid
