Retrofitting Folding Mirrors

Hello,

Has anyone been able to Retrofitting Folding Mirrors on his E89? If yes, how did you do it? What did you buy?

I’m confused.. are you talking about the side mirrors?... they are foldable by default, and can be coded to close/open when locking/unlocking vehicle.

Not all cars have that, that is an extra option you can opt for when you purchase the car.

For example, my car does not have electric folding mirrors. (I don't even have a button to fold them).

You'll need the door switch with the extra (folding) button.
Then you'll need the two folding mirrors.
The mirrors are available in 3 pin and 5 pin plug versions. To save extra wiring etc I'd assume your existing is probably 3 pin, you'd have to check. I believe the extra 2 pins are for the auto dimming but I'm not exactly sure.

Retro-fitting is straight forward, plug-n-play as well as some coding.

This is something I've already looked into and seems a good simple job to do but I simply cannot justify spending £400+ for a couple of mirrors just to fold them in electrically, certainly not while my current mirrors work perfectly fine. I would like to do it, and I might in the future.
