Hello,
Has anyone been able to Retrofitting Folding Mirrors on his E89? If yes, how did you do it? What did you buy? |

I’m confused.. are you talking about the side mirrors?... they are foldable by default, and can be coded to close/open when locking/unlocking vehicle.

For example, my car does not have electric folding mirrors. (I don't even have a button to fold them). |

You'll need the door switch with the extra (folding) button.
Then you'll need the two folding mirrors. The mirrors are available in 3 pin and 5 pin plug versions. To save extra wiring etc I'd assume your existing is probably 3 pin, you'd have to check. I believe the extra 2 pins are for the auto dimming but I'm not exactly sure. Retro-fitting is straight forward, plug-n-play as well as some coding. This is something I've already looked into and seems a good simple job to do but I simply cannot justify spending £400+ for a couple of mirrors just to fold them in electrically, certainly not while my current mirrors work perfectly fine. I would like to do it, and I might in the future.
