Clock reset sign of a weak battery?
Yesterday we had my wife's 2013 35i serviced for the first time at an indie shop we decided to use after leaving the dealership fold when the warranty expired in Feb., 2017. On the way there we were musing about how long the battery might last and when we got there she asked the service writer if there would be any warning signs when the battery was on its way out. He said that the most typical one was that the clock would start to need resetting after the ignition was turned off as it is the last link in some sort of electronic sequencing. I didn't listen that closely to his explanation, but I thought I'd run it by members here to see if there was any truth to his claim.

It'd a DD and there are no signs that the battery is weak at this point. It was just a general question regarding signals of a weakening battery. And the car is out of warranty; that's why it was in an indie shop for service. A little out of practice reading posts Nick?

You probably have about a year before it may be a problem.
