Just a quick rant...

I know many of us love our cars (why else would we surf this site and others so much).
I think I can find a willing audience to hear today's rant.
So, One of my biggest gripes that happens more often then you'd think.

You spend a good part of your Sunday detailing your car and do all the right things to make your joy shine and glisten. You start your commute to work on Monday with it looking beautiful and what happens as you go to merge onto the interstate....the friggin' Prius in front of you decides at that exact moment in time to clean their windshield by spraying washer fluid all over the place. I have no where to go and it proceeds to "spritz" all over the front of my car.
SHEER FRUSTRATION

Thanks for listening.
By the way, my solution is to usullay proceed to get ahead of them in traffic and return the favor.

I think he thought it needed a little more of that tender loving care so he thought he help you out

Nah .. I know it happened to me too quite a few times. My corrective action is to make sure I don't follow them too close (any of them) then overtake them like the tornado it is

PS. I call my white BMW the "White Tornado" and my little blue benz "blue tornado"

Have a happy rest of the summer ... enjoy

ha ha Thanks!

I usually keep spread out from everyone but I was trapped this morning between two cars. The woman driving the Prius was totally clueless...she was spraying that crap on my car, the car beside me, the car behind me....

FWIW I did not realize until very recently that spraying the windshield would spray the roof and car behind.

Maybe this is the exact reason why an Altima driver behind me was so upset the other day!?

The usual response to getting douched by the car ahead of you is to wash your own windshield thus spraying the vehicle behind you who washes their windshield and so on and so on. If you keep an eye out for this, you'll see spritzes going backwards in sequence for a number of cars. My record count is 7.

Also, do not spray the windscreen, or drive behind others who does, when the roof is down...

+1 on that! If you do it once, you'll never do it again.

My frustration starts on that car washing Sunday when my guaranteed not to kink hose that cost $48 does nothing else but,or when the latest scratch remover does not do its job or I drop my clean microfiber towel on the ground for the second time and have to use a third.

For me, the frustration comes when the headlight washer jets pop up at random
and wet the entire front of the car with washer fluid.

According to what I found in the manual, the car decides when the headlight jets will deploy. If someone knows how to disable them, it would be great to know.

The headlight washers only spray when the headlights are on (headlights, not AE). So, at night, just turn the lights off and you'll just spray the windshield.

My driver door was spit on yesterday. Car was parked in a residential neighborhood for about an hour while I was meeting a client.
Good thing he/she missed the door handle

Sorry about that. That sucks.

On the flip slide there are so many homeless wandering around NorCal amidst epic silicon valley $$$ (i.e. huge disparity) that is isn't surprising....

Yeah... I spent a few hours washing + waxing the Z this Sunday and almost didn't drive to work on Monday because it looked like rain...

And don't get me started on Prius(s). Bad Whole Foods parking lot memories.

I have experienced differently: you can decide when you want to spray your headlights.
A gentle pull on the lever will spray your windshield only , when a stronger/full pull will spray both.
