For any of you that have this and have the dongle and use it with Android Auto, or even better actually use the Headunit Reloaded app, then Android Auto is now available in it's new look (go into settings and check the top setting regarding using the new update now).

Here's a few shots of mine through Headunit Reloaded (no dongle required, and no there is not a Carplay version!)
EDIT** Forgot to say I'm in Darkmode on my Samsung A70.

So quick question. These are true android devices correct? I can connect with my hotspot, go to the google playstore and download apps, right? Like waze, Pandora etc... I have a PX5 in my Jeep and it amazing, just connect to my hotspot and Boom I have a tablet in the jeep. Am i going to have a similar experience?

But I am curious to know how to change this to mph, DavesZed would you happen to know?

Ah, got it. I can’t wait to download the CarPlay apk. I have not been successful yet, will try your link sometime this weekend.

The one I have right now is wired only so you have to plug it in every time and connection is very fast.

Experience is awesome. One thing which is bothering me little is Siri volume is very low and if you increase the volume while she is talking it also increases the volume of the music that is playing.

Give me few days and I will let you know how the wireless one works

Morning all,

Yes Torque works fine with it but only via a WiFi OBD2 adaptor as the unit does not support Bluetooth OBD2. I have the full version, paid for it years ago, and just had to buy a new adaptor but yeah it works just not at the same time as you are using the hotspot from your phone as the unit can only handle one WiFi input at a time.

As for KPH/MPH no you cannot change it it is stuck on KPH (even with the new look).
BTW if you press the KPH guage you can change the mode (colour), I personally prefer Sport Mode as it's a nice red colour.

As for the apk file, I'm not getting any messages from Dropbox so here's a new link.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/xjhvz7ezfy...3.apk.1.1?dl=0

I received the Avin wireless CarPlay dongle today. 1st impression is it is worth the $100. Connection from the time you turn on the car to CarPlay interface appears in the screen roughly 15 seconds. The connectivity setup is very easy and only needs to be done the 1st time. The dongle advertises a Bluetooth device and a WiFi device. You simple pair your phone with the dongles Bluetooth receiver with pin 0000. After that you phone will ask you if you want to enable CarPlay for this device. After this point you don't need to do that again. Once you enter the car and turn it one the android screen boots up and the dongle starts to transmit the Bluetooth and WiFi signal and your phone will connect automatically.

Must use the app I posted for the dongle to work.

Do the steering wheel controls work straight away or do you need to turn on the Music Player then off again to get them to work? (Press Music, let it start playing, press the Back button, Music shuts down. Steering wheel buttons now work)

I'll test that and get back to you haven't tried that. But I do know in the new version of the app there are settings to map steering wheel buttons to functions. I have to test that also

Just got around to installing the file you posted. Looks and sounds flawless. Will think of the wireless option later down the line when I get tired of the wire.

Has anyone tried the carwebguru launcher? I am waiting on delivery of mine, but I use this with my Jeep's Android radio and it is simply amazing.

Glade it worked out for you. Regarding the wireless one it work good but auto connect is hit or miss. Sometimes it works sometimes you have to manually connect the Bluetooth. Maybe I'm not waiting enough but I figure if I have to go through all that might as well connect the cable. Hold off on the wireless one

Let me know if you have luck mapping keys. Can't seem to get it to work.
