Windshield wiper question

What is the purpose of the plastic guard on the driver side wiper?

Does anyone know a brand of wipers that has the spots for the two screws to attach to?

It's an airfoil which is supposed to exert pressure on the blade at speed for better wiping. you're probably going to have to get an OE blade from the dealer to match the screws. Or, just replace the rubber wiper inserts.
