Rear Brake Disc

I am trying to find the rear brake disc to match the front BMW performance slotted drilled disc.
My research came out from EBAY.CO.UK
The spec says 300 x 20 mm and 66 mm height. But on my measurement I have only 55 mm height??
So far Z$ S23i S30i and S35i(US only) share the same part.
anybody knows where to get, Brembo disc possible??

Im not sure if its a good idea to use the Slotted brembo discs with the stock calipers... But you can always contact your local brembo dealer for a quote on the discs of the meassurements of your OEM discs. The Brembo official dealer in Thailand is:

Toon Motorsport
Car Commercial Partner
Paitoon Oonpiphat
9/18 Petkasem Road Bangwha Paseecharoen Bangkok 10160

Ps: From my experience in break discs i advise you should use Drilled instead of slotted break discs for everyday/sport drivers, the break pad wear is much lower on the drilled ones except if you're using your car for track use only, then the slotted one's are more suitable.

I hope i helped.

Im not sure if 11mm is THAT much of a difference but then again you should better ask a technician who installs break rottors, you wouldnt want a break malfuntion/wheel lockup due to inappropriate fitment. When you're saying 66mm height, what exactly do you mean? I only know how to read brake disc size in Diameter & Thickness which in this case is 300mm Diameter(height) x 20mm thickness.

By the way, i checked it out and not all the Z4's share the same rear disc rottor. The 23i and the 30i have 300x20 the 35i and 35is use 324x20

Height is the overall height from inner disc surface to the wheel hub
Z4 35i US model only that use 300x20 rear disc, not European 35i

Oh got it. I dont know about that. Maybe the installer can use 11mm spacer rings (or close) where the disc mounts in the wheel hub. Did you contact the Brembo dealer?

The height (Rotor thickness + offset) of the disc will not effect the wheel clearance (only face thickness will). The more height , the more distance disc will go inside, need caliper repositioned
Thailand Brembo carries only BBK kits

They have the rear disc but when I asked for the dimension, They say "same as OEM" ??
price is $149 x 2 + $75 shipping
I am not sure about this company
from ebay.co.uk they also have rear disc for E89. But when I look carefully, it is the same disc for E90, whicn I think it is not the same

The European 23i and 30i use a 300 x 20 rear disc, while the 35i uses a 324 x 20 rear disc, funny thing is that they all use the same caliper [different pads though]. I went with the E90 Performance Brake Kit for the front, and will upgrade to the 35i rear discs/pads once all the parts arrive. BMW in Hockeneheim says this will fit and will pass the T.U.V. and will keep the front and rear brake performance pretty well balanced.

Did you mean, you will be using the E90 335i BMW performance rear (or other brands') on your Z35i.???

Almost, I will be using the E9x 328i front BBK on my 30i, and the rears will use the 35is brakes, to maintain the brake balance, and get past the German T.U.V.

I am going the same route. Which rotors did you end up with?

Still working out a few details, but here is the plan:

The BMW Performance Brake Kit [E9x] kit is sitting in the garage [Large Thanks to Turner BMW]. This will take the stock 30i front rotors from 330x24 to 338x26 and should fix the fading issue.

This will require minimum 17" wheels, but be warned - ONLY BMW 17" wheels will fit. They have a recess on the back side that allows them to clear the 6 pot caliper and the larger caliper on the 35i/35is. Non BMW 17" wheels have issues fitting.

Rear set up. The European 23i and the 30i share the same rear brake pieces, and the European 35i and 35is share pieces. My figures show that the US version of the 35i uses the same parts as the European 30i, while on the 35is uses the larger rear setup. So I have the really really nice BMW folks set to test the European 35is pieces on the rear. Currently scheduled for March 16th, which is when the snow tires com off. Currently waiting on European Spec [I need the A.B.E. [Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis] to make the parts Road Legal in Germany] EBC Yellow rear pads and a set of Steel Flex brakes lines for all 4 corners.

Hope this makes sense, and I didn't get bit by the cut & Paste monster putting this together, and before you spend any money please verify the above with BMW, but I will report back with the final results and if work permits, and I can get to the dealer at the right time - photos are hoped for of the installation.

Spoke with EBC Germany today and it turns out that NONE of the EDC products for the E89 have obtained the certification required for legal street use in Germany. Appears that they are working on it, but don't have a timeline yet.

The E9x from Performance Brakes bolted up in 30 minutes with absolutely no issues. Also replaced the front brake lines with Steelflex lines. Was not able to do tyhe back as the folks providing the rear lines sent what I can only imagine is a set for the E85/E86 which consists of 2 lines per side, whereas the E89 uses three lines on the rear.

Took BMW 2 hours to complete re-coding the car to account for the brakes, and to get road approval from the T.U.V.

Still holding off on the rears until I get the front fully bedded and can see how everything feels. Large appologies for the crappy pictures, but only had a phone available.

Any nmews on the rears?, or how you like the fronts?

Today I was surprised to see the front performance brake kit costing over $2000! Didn't they use to cost under $1k USD

Fronts are now fully bedded and working great. While the increase in braking performance is noticeable, the greatest benefit is that fading is drastically reduced, like 3 laps of the Ring before it gets in the way, which is the perfect time for a break as they do get really hot, as do the rears. the re-coding by BMW has left the entire system very well balanced in spite of no parts for the rear, so I have decide to hold off on the 35is rear setup - don't see the need.

The fronts did seem a LOT cheaper when I got them.
