Intermittent windshield washer operation

I have a 2013 Z4 28I. Recently the windshield washer doesn't always work. I've found if I shut the car off and restart it the washer will work again.

I'm guessing your washer pump is failing as my 2009 30i did a few months back. It is an easy replacement located on the rear of the washer reservoir. I used part ACI 177143 from amazon. It cross referenced to the BMW part. It is always best to check realoem.com to make sure you get the correct part.

Most likely the body control module. A $1k part that sits behind the glove box and controls a myriad of functions. Had the exact same symptom on my 2013 35i a couple of years ago and that's what it was.
