Z4 Buying Considerations (Z4 Newbie)

Hi all, venturing into a Z4 search and looking for a steer on the sweetspot in the range.
Budget between 10k to 11k maybe a bit more for a really tidy car, not massively fussed about horsepower as got that t-shirt with past M cars.
Would I be underwhelmed with the 2.0 ltr ?
What specs are a must ? What to avoid ? What to upgrade?
Recently sold a beautifull 640d gran coupe, it was just to big for my needs and we also have a daily X1 so the Z4 will be for weeeknds/fun and some Euro tours.
Happy to consider manual & auto.

honestly car is too stiff for longer trips,i went to greece and back 700km one way and i wouldnt do it again,i do have 19 low profile tires,maybe smaller wheels would help

Thanks for replying , yes, one of my smaller concerns is comfort , I'm 6ft so am gonna test drive initially also when touring I usually limit to 300 kilometres a day.

20i nice car..earlier pre 2015 can suffer from cam chain issues in part due to poor servicing…

Easily remapped to 28i spec and beyond..

I had one for 30k miles and loved it…

Some folks drone on about BMWs and straight sixes..

It’s a much better balanced car than any of the sixes..

The 8 speed auto is a honey..

6 speed manual less so.

The MSport with 326M and runflats rides appalling..

Everyone throws the runflats away and it’s much better.

Depends if you’re a ‘twiddler’ or just an occasional hand washer in terms of mechanical aptitude..

Like all these things gets complicated ..maybe you should wait till I publish my book in the spring?

I have several friends with 20i..as well as 23i/30i etc and they love their cars..
