Anyone running a rear diffuser on an non-msport rear bumper?

I have a non-msport rear bumper and am looking at diffusers to help even the car out a bit. The only rear diffusers I've seen are obviously intended for a quad exhaust system, which I'm not a huge fan of. I may be willing to try it out to see if I like it, but I realized there may be a bigger issue... do you have to cut the stock bumper?

Obviously the stock rear bumper is designed for dual exhaust. Does the diffuser sit low enough that it just moves the quad exhaust down below the stock bumper, or do you actually have to cut and make room?
