Me too. I was definitely part of the PC master race when I was younger and would laugh at all the apple fainbois!

Then I was forced to use one at some job I had and started getting use to it. Then I wanted a laptop and at the time all the PC options were ugly, fat and had horrible battery life compared to the mac so ended up with a macbook pro... never looked back. I still have a custom built PC I made strictly for gaming, but everything else I do on my 2016 macbook pro, which apart from having to get the battery replaced because it looked like it was about to burst, it still runs like a champ. Even my previous MBP is still running just fine if you plug it in, because battery on that one is toast. Might upgrade when the M1 macbook pros come out.

I don't have to do anything to them, that's why I like them. For work I just want to turn that shit on and have it be ready to go. I want to do my work and be done. Every time I turn on my gaming PC after not having used it for a while it probably takes 30 min of updating before I can get started. When I first built it it would boot up almost instantly, it has gotten slower over time where it now takes forever to boot. I'm sure theres a fix, but that's the thing, my old MBP still boots just as quickly and runs just as well as when it was new. I don't want to be a part time IT guy on top of the work I already have to do.

I don't mind doing it for fun when I feel like it with my gaming machine, but not for everyday critical work stuff.

I don't need to do anything to it. It works fine the way it is. Just as fast as when I first got it in 2014. Only complaint is the tiny speakers.

Back to COVID-19 vaccines, my daughter has 1 more day to hit that magic number 30 with her J&J shot. No problems at all for her.

Unfortunately not so. The CDC is tracking "breakthrough" COVID cases among vaccinated people. There have been hospitalizations and deaths. I'd be very interested to hear more about the cases, for example if the people had other health issues and so on.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-1...ugh-cases.html

The idea of just getting one dose of the 2-dose regimen was discussed early on, it was because there was a relative shortage of doses and states were setting aside doses for 2nd shots. Now that there is plenty to be had, I have a hard time seeing a good reason not to get the 2nd stab. That's how the MRNA vaccines were designed to be used.

That page seems to be talking about fully vaccinated people still being infected, doesn't really talk about the difference between people with 1 shot vs 2. There comes a point where if your number is up the universe is taking you out one way or another. I mean 100 some people still got taken out even after being fully vaccinated according to that page. It's risky being alive.

Everything I have read says one dose is pretty effective, obviously 2 is better and that's why any health officials will always recommend 2. Anyone in any official capacity will alway eer on the side of caution. There needs to be more research done on how long 1 dose lasts, how it compares to 2 over longer time spans etc.

My legs still hurt... we'll see now that I'm home and not in the car all day if it gets better. I may still get the 2nd dose I have not totally decided yet. However I'm also not afraid of just having 1. I mean shit I've spent a year with no vaccine and honestly for the past 6 months or so I've done pretty much everything I do normally. Only difference in my life is I wear my mask where required and I probably wash my hands more than normal.

I got my second shot Friday. Nothing really happened last night but today my arm was a little sore, not as sore as my first shot. I am having mild body aches but nothing that I can't deal with. So all in all nothing major. I'm happy

First dose Moderna here. No issues outside of sore arm and sleepiness (not sure if that's just the weekend in general) on the morning after. Unfortunately in Ontario we're about four months out for the second dose.

Four months from your 1st one for 2nd dose? Sheesh!

Yeah it seems Canada has scarce supplies based on what some others were saying recently. It may also depend on location?

Crazy. Guess just 1 dose works as well? May not be as efficient I guess but whatever works to get them back to semi-normal.

Yep. Supplies are tight, so unless you're in a remote or indigenous community you won't be getting the second dose (of anything) for awhile.

Congrats. You will now resemble the character in The Manchurian Candidate.
I have 7 days until I follow suit.

Was a rough night after the shot, freezing!, sore joints, and little sleep.
Mostly cleared up after that, just a sore arm. Though not much sleep last night either.

Whoa, what a difference 3 hours can make! Woke up this AM feeling great with the exception of a sore arm. 98.2 temp. Now, just 3 hours later (19 hours post injection) I have a 99.5 temp that's going up 0.1 degrees just about every time I check it. Headache, body ache, and my skin feels all tingly like a sunburn. Here we go! I feel like when you are on a rollercoaster chugging slowly up to the top of the first big drop. You know it's coming but when and how bad?

I don't know if it's just me but I swear it seems people have a rougher time with the Moderna vaccine. Personally I got two shots of Pfizer and never felt anything but a slightly sore area around the injection site but it was very brief.

My wife & I both got our two MRNA shots. For both of us, it felt like someone put a tiny tiny needle into the arm.
