Rumors were denied that during the Mexico race weekend Perez will announce to retire from F1 at the end of this season + that a Perez celebration would be in the works.
The Mexican GP , aka Checo's home race will put him even more under pressure .

The Mexican failed 'always when he drives under pressure .

MAX didn't anything wrong , he just won today his 15th race in this season .And that was no. '50 for MAX !
WTF can be wrong with winning 50 races ?
But MAX will be fine . And MAX will be in Mexico to win the race .

Too bad for Checo , he'll lose his P2 from LEW and his Red Bull seat too !
And of course , the Mexicans won't be happy about that ..

4 races to go.

If Verstappen wins 1 out of 4 remaining races, he will beat his 2022 #1 record ever of most wins in a season (16 out of 22) + will become #2 ever of highest percentage of wins in a season (16 out of 22 = 72.73%) + will match the wins record of Alain Prost (sharing the #4 ever of most wins: 51 wins).

If Verstappen wins 2 out of 4 remaining races, he will beat his by then all-new 2023 #1 record ever of most wins in a season (17 out of 22) + will become #1 ever of highest percentage of wins in a season (17 out of 22 = 77.27%), beating the 1952 Alberto Ascari record of 75% + will become #4 only ever of most wins (52 wins), jumping over Prost.

If Verstappen wins 3 out of 4 remaining races, he will beat his by then all-new 2023 #1 record ever of most wins in a season (18 out of 22) + will beat his by then all new 2023 record ever of highest percentage of wins in a season (18 out of 22 = 81.81%) + will match the wins record of Sebastian Vettel (sharing the #3 ever of most wins: 53 wins).

If Verstappen does the incredible by winning all 4 remaining races, he will beat his by then all-new 2023 #1 record ever of most wins in a season (19 out of 22) + will beat his by then all-new 2023 #1 record ever of highest percentage of wins in a season (19 out of 22 = 86.36%) + will become #3 ever of most wins (54 wins), jumping over Vettel.

Once he will get to 54 wins in 2023 or 2024, it will be the long and winding road to someday beat the 91 wins of Michael Schumacher and the 103 wins of Lewis Hamilton (a number that could still increase before he retires at the end of 2025). Verstappen is only 26 years young, currently not planning on retiring at the end of the 2028 season and has definitely skills, so mathematically it is possible that he will also beat Hamilton's most wins ever record someday before 2030.

Here's an excerpt for you. Dutch video posted on 21 October 2015 - Verstappen answers questions from viewers.

Excerpt from a Dutch interview of 2015:
  • Journalist: "What do you want to ask your future self in 2030 ?"
  • Verstappen: "Have I become world champion more than seven times ?"

To start, Max destroyed everyone in the Sprint. 10 sec gap in 19 laps was nothing short of excellence in its finest form.
Today, starting from 6th, and having to make some serious passes (no one just moved out of the way despite him having so much more pace) while also having a serious issue just shows how good he is - even more so when you realize the M tire Ham was on was a way better tire than the H. Despite that Max pretty much matched Ham's times despite the issue and slower tire. I think without the brake issue Max would have sailed off into the distance like he did the previous day.
So Max is the ONLY driver EVER to win 3 races in the same country in one season, sets a new all time high in points (he held previous record), and ties his own record for most wins in a single season, and only Sch was faster to 50 wins than Max (180 GPs to reach for Max).

Said it before and will say it again: Verstappen's claim to fame will be the fact that, during his F1 race career he had the chance to race also against the living F1 legend Hamilton, the mighty F1 race driver considered by most to be The Greatest Of All Time.

Of the 41 Grand Prix races that Hamilton and Verstappen raced since Hamilton's 103rd GP win (Saudi Arabia - Dec 5, 2021 - Hamilton was at that time the reigning 7-time world champion):
  • Verstappen won 31 races (75.61%)
  • Hamilton won no race (0%)
If you can pull that off against the GOAT who's backed by a Mercedes war machine of Toto Wolff's highly skilled troops, then you are an extraordinary race driver.

And it ain't over yet.

I agree - while it's hard to compared across vastly different era, but you setting records the previous or current 'greats' never could that only says one thing about your talent and skill.

Wow, did not realize the ride heights were so different, but is there any weight behind this?

EDIT: just seeing now! WOW! Attempting to cheat and not getting away with it. That helps Checo A LOT!

True, but you’re conveniently forgetting the first of the 31 wins had a massive helping hand from Massi, and for the remaining 30 wins the Mercedes are pure shite. It’s like saying that Hamilton destroyed Verstappen, Ricciardo, Kvyat, Albon, etc. Of course he did. Everybody else had shite cars.

Yes . It was because the COTA track is extremely bumpy .
The RB19 couldn't run at COTA with the usual low suspension setup , this was very negative for the RB19's pace and DRS topspeed.

Huh? Max won 10 races in 2021. He's then won 30 and counting since (btw he holds the record for the best rolling 50 race win %). Let's also not forget that in 2021 Massi helped Ham a lot with the lack of penalties - i.e. in Bahrain he ran off track enough times to receive a 5 sec penalty and yet didn't but only beat Max by 8 tenths.

Ham's first one was due to blatant cheating that they knew about and covered up.

The thing is, while RB has a good car, the field is super close from top to bottom and more so as you get to the top 4 or 5 teams.

Great news for Checo! He goes from what looked to be a weekend where he lost 11 points to Ham in the standings to gaining 9 (20 point swing)!

However, there is virtually no chance to get the harsh DSQ decision overruled because size is objectively measurable and it was not disputed by Mercedes and Ferrari that, even with the tolerance for wear allowed by the rules, the rear skid of both cars failed to comply. But maybe an appeal to give it a try to ask for an alternative penalty than DSQ. But almost certainly to no avail (car does not comply = DSQ).

Small consolation that the cars of Russell and Sainz complied.

The consequences could be crucial for Perez securing #2 in the WDC.

WCC: gonna be a hot Autumn for Mercedes and Ferrari.

Logan Sargeant scored his first point in his home race.

That's too bad for Lewis and Leclerc, go through all of that just to get zip.

Logan for a point though, never thought I'd see it!

Checo needs to retire, he's washed. Miami Max put him into retirement, he just doesn't know it yet.
