I dunno, the realism thing is over rated, who wants that much stress? You still need t carry the right lines etc and there's great nuance to turning a good lap. There's a million things wrong with the game but realism factor is fine.

i drive with every assist off except ABS full. TCS 0. GT3 cars will understeer even at 40. you have to trail brake perfectly, weight transfer perfectly - not too much or it will understeer more, turn the steering a certain way but not too much not too little, not touch the throttle at all, pray the outside tires are not on the surface with no grip, not touch the kerb ...

and one time out of 100 it will turn like on rails. the other 99 times, turn 1 at spa bye bye

high speed corners are easier

I will say the GT games have never been true "simulators" despite the tag line. They were simply better than the competition (the competition at the time being full on arcade games like need for speed). So by comparison it was the most "realistic" game you could get on console.

GT7 is IMO the best and most realistic iteration of the Gran Turismo series (despite all the technical and business issues the game has issued since launch). It's no rf2, but I don't think it's meant to be. I think of it as a more.accessible and approachable realistic racer than hard-core simulators like rf2. I think if you can get past the idea that it's not a truly realistic game compared to... real life... you'll see that it's a lot of fun based just off the variation of cars and tunability.

As for understeering in a GT3 at 40 mph... I'm not sure I'll have to go back and check. I don't recall experiencing wonky issues like that... I'm using a fanatic ddpro setup and it's been fantastic.

G99 is right, you have to exaggerate weight transfer to the front end like crazy.

It's definitely fun, it's just terribly unrealistic especially compared to ACC and iRacing.

I'll have to check again - it's been a few weeks since I last played. But agreed it's not on the same level of realism as something like ACC or iRacing - but I don't think GT ever has tried to be (despite all those taglines of the "real driving simulator"). ACC is now on consoles, but I don't find it to be enjoyable as GT7.

Is it crossplay? I've got it on PC if you ever want to get smoked.

I have no idea... I rarely play it. But it does pair well with the fanatec ddpro. Maybe I should give it another shot and compare driving characteristics between it and GT7.

This is 100pc true. The last super tight chicane at Trial Mountain is a great example. If you don't carry the EXACT correct speed over the left hander there's no way to rotate the thing quickly for the right hander. Like you're either right of you lose half to 3/4 of a second.
