EVERYONE THIS IS A VIDEO GAME
So, I thought I would try something new, a build thread for a video game! Alpine A110: So the car I’ve bought is a 1973 Alpine A110 1600S, one of my favorite classic cars. Build: So I’m not sure exactly what kind of build to do with this car. I like it the way it is, but, I had an idea for a restomod, maybe an engine swap and new wheels and completely different internals. But I don’t know, feel free to share some ideas! |

The colour I'd change first for the original WRC one of metallic blue then uprated suspension with larger? gold Minilite magnesium wheels. Engine would be a highly tuned alloy small block v6 with no turbos. Some sort of rear spoiler in matt black maybe 911 style starting from the bottom of rear window or maybe a roof spoiler not to spoil the back end too much.

Leave it just the way it is. Time capsule. Any mods should be strictly bolt on's imo.

Okay just realized it's for a game, never mind lol.
What a stunner of a car! Actually I'm ashamed to say I never heard of it before, but glad I have now. Saw the price tag of what they go for and I think that would play in to keeping it stock. They sounds fairly rare and the drive train already sounds fun. Also sounds like the car is near impossible to get parts for. Please keep us updated and show more photos, love it!

Also out of curiosity, how much do they go for in real life? I know it would be impossible to find one where I live but I do love alpines. Also here’s a pic of the new (er) one of the a110. |

I got carried away with the uprated suspension bit, it looks fine as it is though the rear could be a half inch more higher because of the long body overhang. The exhaust would look better being closer to the bumper.

Restoring a classic car like the Alpine A110 can be a challenging yet rewarding project. As for the build, here are a few ideas you could consider:
Keep it original: If you love the car just the way it is, then you could focus on restoring it to its original condition. This would involve repairing any damage, replacing worn out parts, and repainting the exterior. Restomod: As you mentioned, a restomod would involve updating the car with modern components while keeping the classic look intact. This could include an engine swap, suspension upgrades, and new wheels. You could also consider modernizing the interior with features like a touchscreen infotainment system and modern seats. Track-focused build: If you plan to use the car primarily for track days, then you could focus on making performance upgrades. This could include adding a roll cage, racing seats, upgraded brakes, and suspension components. You could also swap the engine for something more powerful and tune it for performance. Rally-inspired build: The Alpine A110 has a rich history in rally racing, so you could consider building a car inspired by its racing heritage. This could include rally-style lighting, a roll cage, and rally-inspired wheels and tires. You could also add performance upgrades like a turbocharger and an upgraded suspension. Ultimately, the direction you take with the build will depend on your personal preferences and goals for the car. |
