MMP outlet on z4 35i
Hey guys
Anyone running mmp outlet on stock turbos here? How did you manage to get a lot of room between front turbo manifold and the outlet? Did you remove the aluminium heatsheild all the way covering the right side and washer tank? |

We have one of the largest amount of engine bay clearances then any other N54 engine.
I found no reason to remove anything to install the outlet. it touches nothing. It does get close but my inspections have shown no heat damage. |

Ok... so good news and bad news.
I realized I hadn't actually looked all that recently so I just went out to get a good look at it again. Plenty of room from this view with no heat shields in the way: The bad news is... yes I am about to burn through the silicone hose at the front outlet. I don't think getting any more room from heat shields is my problem. I will need to see how to get more distance from that curved section and the manifold. That is where I should have had heat tape and maybe another shield of some sort. |

Can you fix your photos (my guess is they are on Google) as we can't see them. I have that problem here all the time, and log in to Chrome as "guest" to test.
I am running MMP inlet and outlet. I don't agree with the room piece, especially having done the install. Outlets are super tight in space. I'll take photos. I have 3k miles on mine without issue as of yet. Mine run right close to the frame rail. In fact we hand to cut off one of the screw stand offs (for the shields) so it didn't rub through the outlet. I'll post a few photos of my setup tonight when I'm home. Filippo

Not sure what else I can do. I have a few hundred photos out hosted from Microsoft's One Drive and have never had anyone report they can not see them. |

How about if you were to cut that bend so it is a bit shorter? Then is sits lower down to the outlet connection and further from the Manifold?

I think you made it by your self. Just bought my z4 yesterday. Can you tell me how much time you spent for each, inlet and outlets. Thank you

Actually the inlet/outlets were mostly installed by a guy that worked on the car with me, so I can't help with first-hand overall installation time experience. I helped on cinching up the outlets, which are super tight, particularly relative to the orientation of the clamps and access thereof. We did them with the shield off and, in the photos below, you can see I've yet to reinstall the shields. The fit is tight by the turbo outlets to manifolds, and again as you go forward toward the intercooler connection and along the frame rail up front. These are big hoses :-).
Toward the front, I cut one of the threaded mounting studs on the rail (for the heat shield), as it was pressing into the silicone hose. Filippo

Can't really recommend these anymore considering the nice aluminum ones that are available now.
But, if you happen to get a great deal on a set then they will last a while so give it a go as long as you only expect a season or 2 out of them. I have switched to PSP fmorelli tried to switch to PSP but had availability problems and MPP sent a replacement set to him after his failed. |

Sorry I don't visit this forum much. The E89 turbo outlet is different than standard E90. PSP stuff is nice, and is back in stock. I've reordered PSP but E90 configuration for in the larger 2" outlet which goes with my soon to install turbo setup. PSP is a quality piece and one gets what one pays for.
