An interesting article by Hughes comparing Senna with Max though it is flawed by lets face it guessing that Hamilton would be on top should they be in one team with similar cars, really just rolling with the general train of thought that Hamilton would mostly outdrive him just by looking at his scoresheet and nothing else.

Sure mate , with luck on his side . HAM was very lucky to take it at Silverstone 1 ..He was running on square tires , while MAX was called to pit !

Otherwise it was Silverstone 1 + 2 for MAX !

He managed his tires and didn’t wear them down to the point of a little debris causing a puncture. He drove by that exact spot 13s ahead of max with no issues. So in a way, you’re right!

Today is seriously just in fun, I was really hoping Max could mount a charge and make for an exciting finish.

Not kidding around, it was impressive to watch HAM not only save his tires for the late/mid race pit stop.........but extend his lead to where he could maintain first after it.

Edit: Also glad Max harmlessly went into the sand trap and didn't get hurt. We all know those sudden tire punctures can lead to some really nasty accidents. There has obviously been enough tragedy at that track.

Seriously...it's just as exciting to watch HAM perform his tire magic as it was to watch MSC run quali laps at the end of the race in Magny-Cours to fit in another pit stop. Masterful.

We are watching the artwork of a grand master. It's a shame so many can't appreciate the artistry they are seeing. I have found that most people who have driven a car in anger appreciate HAM more than those who haven't. They know how hard it can be...alleged dominant car or not.

Thank you MK for posting this. The MB's engineer was very transparent about including or excluding HAM's feelings and observations that may not have been communicated in the language of an engineer, but communicated the deep nuances of vehicle dynamics and performance (or lack thereof).

All drivers provide input regarding car performance, but only a few have that innate (inborn, natural) ability to provide information that even a race engineer would not observe or dismiss.

This is yet another reason why MB dominates the current F1 era.

Dominant teams happen.
Dominant drivers happen.
