I stumbled across this site while looking for info on rims from other models that would swap to the z4. Hope it helps someone out there. This link is to the Z4 page and you can navigate to others. https://www.wheel-size.com/size/bmw/z4/

I mounted these last week and could not be happier. They are 788M rims from a 2017 M2 Competition. Fronts are 9 inch wide 245\35\19 with a 29 offset. Rears are 10 inch wide 265\35\19 with a 40 offset. I have them on my 2015 28i, with a stock suspension. The General g-max tires wouldn’t be my first choice but the complete package was to good to turn down. Its definitely an improved ride quality over the 17” run flats. I’ve experienced absolutely no rubbing over any bumps or on full lock turns. The only issue has been a minor one where the TPMS is not recognized. I did some research and found that they are different part numbers. TPMS does not cause an inspection fail in NY, so I’ll deal with that in a couple of years.

Adding some crappy iphone photos of my z aswell.. Notorious 296 wheels with KW V3 suspension... stock sized 19" Michelin Pilot supersport tires, No spacers, Not rubbing. Maybe a bit still too stiff... i have after every 3 months turned my rebound and compression settings 1 click softer.. every time its getting better and better. so probably going to turn 1 click again soon. Thinking about raising the ride height a little to give suspension a bit more room to travel, because i feel it could be better on bigger bumps and holes where that travel maybe is needed.

To note, these posts aren't super useful without wheel/tire specs.
Anyways, I'm running BMW 513M's on the Z4. 18x9 +29 with 245/40/18's in the front and 18x10 +40 with 275/35/18's in the rear. Only rubbing is on rear plastic fender liner. The car is pretty darn low and I'm actually really surprised/impressed the front doesn't have any rubbing at all, even under full lock. To note, I did end up adding 5mm spacers all around which put the front wheels pretty much exactly flush and the rears still sit inward about 10mm-15mm. ![]() |
