Software update?

Hello folks.

I'm a new owner and trying to get my car to the way I want it. I've done a few things already. My next step to make sure the software is up to date.

So my current software is "Multimedia MX-003-044-031" and "Telephone TX-003-004-031" I've been on BMW.com/software, put in my VIN and it says it's up to date. But correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the last software update is "Multimedia MX-003-005-004" "TX-003-005-008" . Is that right?

Could be that your car has older hardware not capable of supporting the last s/w updates…

You could just download it and try an update…not sure I’d do it without further thought..

Hear comes the part that's confuses me. The car was built in Aug 2016 and is on a "17" plate, The 2nd gen Z4 went out of production in Aug 2016. It means it should all be the least hardware for that model. It should have the updated software that came out in 2014 already installed from new. But it dosen't and BMW own website says it's up to date

I've went on to next thing to do today and I've updated the maps from 2016 to 2023-2 but can't shake that the software should be more up to date too.

I'm going to try the My BMW app and see if I can get it updated that way.

If it’s 2016 then I’d update the s/w or at least try..but don’t blame me if it’s goes Pete Tong…
