Newbie Z4 35i DCT
Hi thought I would try out a new forum, this one seems a big one for the E89!
Bit of car history first: 18 year old me fell in love with a sunset orange 350z, had it for 2 years and it sold within 2 days! I then had a 135i dct which I took to a stage 2+ level but had a slight intercooler/boost problem so only ran 14psi on a custom tune (370bhp/590nm). The 135i E82 was sold after 6 months... I then ended up with an E92 M3 which was fantastic. Changed the rod bearings, exhaust mod and primary decat and sounded absolutely insane. Fantastic car... Bought the Z4 35i on a whim as I put the M3 up for sale just to see if it would get any interest. The car had BC Racing Coilovers, 20" Veemann Wheels, custom downpipe back exhaust and a few carbon goodies definitely making this Z4 stand out from the rest. I started thinking about how I was going to put my touch on the car right from when the deposit was made! So now up to date it has: • Custom fabricated downpipe back exhaust w/ secondary cat delete and res delete to quad exit rear boxes • PB 6 pot BBK w/ braided lines and Millers Racing Fluid • CTS Turbo Intake Kit (DCI) • 5" Stepped intercooler • BC Racing Coilovers • Genuine M4 Forged Wheels • MPSS (255 35 19 & 275 35 19) • Stage 1+ MHD Tune • Carbon front splitter • Carbon side steps • Stubby Aerial • H8 LED Angel Eyes • Carbon look kidney grills • Carbon look engine cover • Carbon look roll hoops • Gloss black trimmed diffuser I need to look into the tyre sizes as the fronts rub a little on full lock and the rears catch on nasty bumps. |

Looks great and welcome to the club. I am surprised you are not running the stage 2+ tune with that mod list.

Thanks! I wanted to use stage 2+ but the original downpipes/cats are in place still... annoyingly the previous owner removed the secondary cats so didn't want to go completely catless!

Would love to go stage 2+, but with no secondary cats as well, I wouldn't pass an MOT/emissions and I can't be bothered with the hassle

Looks much better with the 437M wheels. You're also on the right track with MHD, so many people in the UK make the mistake of going to places like Evolve and Celtic and end up with sub-par tunes.
If I were you I'd keep a look out for a standard exhaust for the 35i or 35is then get some catless downpipes fitted. The car sounds a lot better without primary cats, the turbos spool much faster and you get more power too. |

I made the tuning mistake with my N55 135i really... always wanted to try MHD just loved the idea! I am on the look out for some secondary cats/oem exhaust so I can go down that route. I love the quad exit rear and tips though!

Love the 437M wheels! I found out that two of my OEM wheels are cracked, so I am in the market for replacements. Going to look for a used set of 437M.
