Has anyone ever used the AFE Scorcher?

Has anyone ever installed one of these in their Z4?

Results?

Don't bother with that stuff.

Get MHD software on you phone, a cable and accomplish much more.

Thanks, so I'll take that as a "No".

I'd still be interested in hearing someone's experience with the AFE Scorcher?

Look at what people on the N54 platform at large are doing. MHD is still under development, being actively supported. For example, the latest ignition system upgrades from bimmerlife and PR are available on MHD. The flex fuel solution for the N54 is being done leveraging MHD. People on the only other tuning platform worth considering, Cobb, are contemplating when they will move to MHD.

One thing on AFE Schorcher - not sure if you've looked how it works, but it basically modifies sensor data to cause increase boost pressure. Not the best way to do things, IMHO. If you are dead set on that approach, you might look at Racechip as well - I run that on my N57 535d only because the only programming choice in the USA for the diesel is $1,000, which is over-the-top for me for a daily driver.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Filippo

Yes. Any Android device, I believe. Some of us use old phones or tablets.
