Question about superheroes...

In every superhero movie people are always complaining. Either the hero is complaining that it's a curse to have powers or that citizens are complaining about the hero (even when they've been saving people).

Question is why?! IMO most of us would love to have super power. Or if there is a real Spider-Man or Iron Man keeping an eye out for us, I would think that it's cool af. Thus I don't really get why it's such a common theme in every superhero movie.

Because people love to complain, it's the only part of superhero movies that is realistic.

Probably gets old after awhile, always having to save ppl or fight crime or whatever else happens in superhero movies.

Isnt there usually someone else that has powers also thats against you?

Its like being famous, after while it gets annoying af and you just want to go to the store without paparazzi and fans being all over the place.

I'm guessing that since most origin stories of superheros have some sort of event that grants them powers (or are born with them but are dormant for a time period) the move away from being normal, which can be traumatic as they must distance themselves from family and friends. They do this for two reasons. Firstly, they will have a nemesis that will strike at friends and family to get at the hero (Superman, Batman, Spiderman and pretty much every superhero that has a secret identity) and secondly the powers they posses have hurt or killed loved ones (Rogue, Jean Grey, Hulk). That internal struggle is what humanizes them to audiences and keeps them in suspended disbelief while watching a movie in the superhero genre.

Makes sense. In the amazing spider man 2 Gwen died. Could see how losing a lived one can make you curse yourself.
