FMIC upgrade suggestions

I have upgraded almost my entire air system from the CAI to the exhaust. My first upgrade was a Wagner low end FMIC. Now I'm approaching 500hp and I think I need to upgrade to a better FMIC. Appreciate any and all suggestions.

Do some iat logs to de determine if you need a larger FMIC. Imho most larger FMICs are more than OK for the street. You only really need the tall FMICs if you do continuous WOT pulls, like you would on track. I have tried VRSF 7 / 7HD / 7.5HD and ER competition (modified to work with larger radiator on my Z4). On the street all of them performed the same. It is only when driving on track that the 7 starts to heat soak like crazy. Im at 450hp max.

VRSF 7.5 Race... My IAT's pretty much don't increase at all on 3rd gear pulls... and when I race 1/2 mile events, my IAT's don't even go up 10 degrees on a 160+mph run from a dig on an 80+ degree day

I havent noticed any such difference with the four FMICs I have tried. But I can immediately feel the difference in response when I add and remove cats to the exhaust. Both mid-cats and down-pipe cats.

at last i have Wagner Evo2 Competition intercooler, VRSF cat-less downpipes and MHD Stage2+ installed. just as you have mentioned no negative effect (lag or slow response) and the performance improvement is HUGE.

Thats great news. How is the fuel in HK? Did you do any logs with mhd, such as 3rd gear wot log from 2500-6500rpm on flat road? Would love to see a datazap link if you have.
