Ahh that's brutal bro !! East was hovering around 56 with MSD's still a go. But the MF reduction per MSD has been lowered also, it's a rough life right now as far as leasing goes

Remember back in 2008 when the Nissan GTR came out? It smoked everything on a track from BMW as well as most other car manufactures as well. With all of that I never had the desire to get one. I just didn't care because to me it's still a Nissan and I'm not into them.

No offense but choosing not to buy a CSL based on whether a much cheaper car like the Camaro can beat it is a bit insecure.
This is always the fastest way to shutdown the (usually young) hater bros. Acknowledge them and then say you just don't care. "I know your car can beat mine. It's amazing, I just would never buy one."
It's about put up or shut up, and Chevy has been putting up for the past five years and BMW is becoming a distant memory for performance cars. And it bums me out. But at the end of the day, I want performance, track performance. Could care less about badges; I don't own stock in any car company.

That's a lie I tell you...CS M3 and M4 have no dual climate, no blind spot detection or pedestrian and front collision, also no glove box. Racetrack yeah but the only daily drivability is the rear seats instead of the roll cage like the GTS...smh...lol. 120k with no blind spot and heat steering and all of that, is that really going to make that big of a difference? I feel like it's less car for a higher price. Just IMO, it's still a cool car non-the-less.

You mean cars with transplanted engines that were non existent for that era? Because that 3.0 CSL didn’t come with that engine. Basically, it’s a resto-mod. And the back-dating/resto mod scene is owned by Singer.

Right now, BMW has some serious company. Ford with its Mustang variants, with its GT350/GT350R giving a very good alternative to the GTS/CSL (and a better engine note). And yes, the Camaro 1LE. Then you have Mercedes Black Series variants, as well as Audi’s Plus. When others step up their game, BMW must step Theirs up to keep ahead.

BMW is considered to be a strong competitor to those brands, or sub-brands.

No-one here (by which I mean this side of the pond) has tested the powered-up Camaros and Mustangs as they generally aren't available for sale outside of NA. Maybe if Chevrolet and Ford put up outside of their comfortable, captive, value-driven home territory...?

And as somebody wrote earlier, I don't believe that in several years there will be CSLs derivatives, since that would cheapen the CSL brand. On the other hand, the top M model will have to be near perfect because it won't let BMW lean on a new name aka GTS to leave space for a better product. I believe wearing the CSL badge would match wearing a crown of an M product overall. Otherwise, you know... THAT will be a failed product.

Oh, going beyond CSL? I think that's possible as well: the GTR. Which obviously mush match a GT3 RS. A super limited production super car, built (mostly) from carbon fiber with a half a million stiker. But this only if they want to keep poking Porsche for good.

GTS is what they call it when they tried and failed to make a CSL.

OK, that concept car exists. Though I do hope that if an M2 CSL is ever released, it would get more cues of these renders (source: here):

I completely agree - the problem is that they've been using that "racetrack" jargon for some time, at least since the E92 M3 days (I remember it from the website, because I built that car about 100 times online. ).

The competition has really heated up on that front...many other options (and cheaper to boot) for pure racetrack inspired uses. It's becoming harder and harder for M to produce that car with dual purposes...the duality of the M has been the best argument for it in the past...which is why I am sure they think they have to slice it up into 3-4 variants now.

They have to be. Without all that shit you hate, the average g/km CO2 of the range is too high. Luckily however, BMW isn’t forcing you to buy one and if you want something extreme and hard core for the track, plenty of manufacturers will sell you an open cockpit 4-wheel motorbike

There was no such thing
as a 2er when the CSLs were made.
The CSL is a 3er so let's keep it purist.
