Garage Door Opener

I’m pretty sure this question is somewhere on this forum but couldn’t find it. I have a 2015 Z4 and am trying to program the garage door opener buttons on the rear view mirror but cannot seem to figure it out. I’ve watched multiple videos but none specifically to my car. I’m pretty sure it has a rolling code. Can someone give me the “exact” procedure on how to program it? Some videos say to hit it 2 times, other say hold it down, etc. what is the correct way for a 2015 Z4? Thank you all in advance.

Well, you'll find it in the manual on page 101ff.

I had the same issue. I wound up buying a compatibility link and it solved the problem

Good luck

When you paired this with the car did you have to re-pair all the other remotes on the garage door ? Last time I messed with replacing a remote I had to go thru and re-do all the remotes and the wall mounted control and it sucked to do !

I know that can happen. This is a standalone garage so other cars were not paired to it. But the remote that came with the garage still worked without issues

I have one of those compatibility bridges as well and didn't have to do that. The bridge itself will get paired to the garage door opener and then any older Homelink vehicles get paired to the bridge. All your original openers will still be paired directly to the opener.

I just recently had this problem and for the life of me I couldn't figure it out, but my friend eventually did, it turns out I was hitting the wrong button to go into the program mode on my rolling code garage door opener.

The instructions are confusing but it's not too hard:

1) Hold buttons 1 and 3 for 20secs so they clear. Should be some flashing when the clear.

2) press hold Button 1 and the button to open/close on your garage door remote until it starts flashing rapidly.

Your half way done. But the rolling code is not setup. If you press and hold button 1 you should see that it flashes but the garage door does respond.

3) Goto your physical garage door opener and put it in the rolling code set mode. In my case there was a 'set' button that seemed like it was to set the open/close position, but if you hold it for a few seconds (genie brand) the normally blue light becomes a slow flashing purple.

4) Run back to your car before the garage door opener falls out of the mode and press and hold button 1 until it flashes for a few seconds, then release and try again. At some point the garage door should respond.

My main problem for so many times, was not getting my garage door opener into the programming mode. Make sure it shows that it is.

You can keep trying the second part until you get it. The first part doesn't need to be redone and it's pretty easy to get right.

Did you get it to work? Similar situation with 2015 and Chamberlain openers with yellow learn button and antenna. There is a solution.
