Question about "weeping" oil pan

Ever since we've owned it (almost 7 years), mechanics have noted the oil pan gasket is weeping on our 2013 35i. No one seems too concerned about it, but I'm wondering why no one has ever suggested re-torquing the pan gasket bolts? Is it because there's no gasket (does BMW use sealant instead?)? How have others dealt with this problem?

oilpan gasket looks like this... i think oilpan bolts were aluminum or something... and that you should use new ones when you take oilpan off and put it back. Remember something like that from a youtube video i watched...

Oilpan gasket isnt easy to replace... drop the subframe etc...

Thanks KP. One of these days I’ll abandon the hope of finding a simple solution for anything on this beast!

Don't give up, I've found a few.

Just recently I fixed a major rattle and knock on my hard top. $18.00 part the tool 5 min to install.

Agreed with previous post. Oil pan bolts are aluminum and sheers off pretty easily and you'll have a much bigger issue. My 2015 with 40k miles is starting to weep in one spot. I'm not concerned until it develops a leak.

Helping a friend replace his on a 535, requires dropping subframe. Pretty involved job but makes for a nice winter project.
