Damned Annoying BMW Financial Services Survey

We recently paid off a BMW loan early on our Z4 and subsequently received an email asking us to complete a survey about our experiences with them. The very first question was:

What was the primary reason you ended your loan?

- The term of the loan expired
- Refinanced
- Sold vehicle
- Traded for another BMW
- Traded for another make

The survey required a selection be made to continue. Hello BMW, what if none of those answers applies? What if, as in our case, we simply didn't want to continue paying interest charges although they were quite low?

And, of course, because we couldn't accurately complete the survey and chose to ignore it, we've now received a follow-up pressing us to answer their questions. Yup, that's damned annoying! Idiots.

I am not a lawyer, but I think "term of loan expired" would have been the right answer. The term ends once you have paid off your loan (and paid all other obligation) -- whether earlier than expected or not. Granted, it would have been bit more consumer friendly to offer a choice of "paid loan off (early)".

Oh, and happy 100th post!
