E89 Shift Knob Replacement

Anyone replace their E89 shift knob with a shorter and possibly weighted knob? On my E85, I replaced the "goosekneck" with a ZHP weighted knob which made a world of difference in shift feel. Unfortunately the ZHP knob wont fit an E89. Any suggestions?

What is it about the ZHP that doesn't fit the e89? I was planning on using the ZHP too, so I may have to reconsider my options if it doesn't fit.

Bump... so what is it about the ZHP knob that doesn't fit? I've used it on all my BMW's and loved it.

Was this swap just a matter of pulling off the old shift knob and putting the nw one in? Did you swap out the boot too?

I tried the ZHP knob and did not work as you need to replace the entire boot attached to the knob on the E89. If any of you ever decide to replace your MT knobs, you have to remove the trim with the boot, then pull the knob off. ZHP knob doesn't come with the boot and trim. Here are the differences, the Z4 knobs come one piece with boot and trim and the ZHP is just the knob:

I should have read this before buying a ZHP shifter… Just pulled the boot off and broken the fixing by removing it. Live and learn!
