You rotate the lamp down about a 1/4 turn and pull out. Then look at the stots on the lamp you remove and make sure you position the new light i the same way to fir in the keyway and then rotate it back to the locked position once you get it to insert and seat in place.

They are now installed. Don't know if I got the position right though? I had huge problems getting both of them to go all the way in. I think I kept trying for an hour or so. Especially the right one was really difficult.

Thanks. I do have some condensation inside the glass. I noticed it yesterday when I took it for a ride after installing. Weather here is about 5-6 Celsius and moist, but I did not ever have any condensation inside the glass before. Is this because when I worked on it yesterday, I let the air in? Will this go away or can I do anything about it?

Edit: Just found this info: http://www.meeknet.co.uk/e38/Condensation.htm

I don't know if it will go away or not. It did get the moisture when you changed bulbs, but it should not increase if you have the new ones locked in as the seal should keep out any more moisture buildup. I would leave it be until either the weather gets warmer or you have a warm dry garage to open it up in. You could perhaps break the seal and use a hairdryer or heatgun blowing at the lens. Not sure if there are better ways, but that would be my approach.

The inner lenses are for show only. They do not serve any function/they do not light up. Only the outer xenon lens lights. Both angel eyes/circles light up however.

Good news. Condensation seems to have disappeared by itself during the day. Used the car to work, to lunch and back, and then home again. All good I'm not sure I placed them correctly though because I think the outer ring is not very bright. Will take a few pictures tomorrow at daylight to see what you guys think.

Thanks for confirming! I wish they made them cornering lights like in the E90.

They are in right. The one that I did get in was that way. The light just doesn't carry out to those outside rings. The Cree that replaced them with were better. Both rings got brighter, but did not match the brightness of the inside ring.

Alright. I always drive with the xenons on, so with them on at the same time as the angel eyes, it looks quite nice. The outer ring looks as bright as everything else. I think I'm good with this

Yeah, same here. The fact that they are white is a great improvement instead of the cheap jaundice looking OEM angel eyes.

Reviving an old thread

I am trying to replace angle eye bulb but I just cant seem to get it to rotate. I am afraid if I try too hard it might break.

Does any one have any pics/video how to do it? The older pics are no longer accessible.

Thanks.

If I remember, there's an orange rubber gasket on this bulb. You have to push in as you turn it to compress the gasket.

From my experience, that was pretty simple. You turn them to engine side. So driver side turns left passenger side right. My driver side was hard to turn. I thought I was going to break it, but it just came out after turning it hardly. You may be in the same situation

Hmm, I can't seem to find any rubber gasket here. I have attached a picture.

Am I looking at the correct bulb? I have circled it in red. All I see is a plastic holder.

Hi, it's the bulb behind the one you have circled, they both( either side )rotate towards the middle of the car to remove them.
The orange gasket is on the bulb itself.
Hope this helps you
