Fantastic work. I have a few questions. The TCM (Top Control Module) monitors all these hall-effect and microswitches? Can diagnostics be performed talking to the TCM with BMW software? How do BMW technicians do it?

This is an awesome piece of work, RobbiZ4 .

I recently had the whole interior and truck taken apart. I was looking at the design of the harness and just shaking my head. I would have much preferred the harness being segmented before and after it articulates, so one could at least consider that part of the harness a "wear item" and replace it. Bending wires just don't work.

So another thought that crossed my mind is fabricating a replacement sub-harness, with Deutsche connectors. In my opinion the harness, especially the passenger side, is just a disaster waiting to happen. Your thoughts, RobbiZ4 ?

Sorry RobbiZ4 let me try again. Isn't the common wiring harness failure where the harness runs alongside the folding arm? Do you replace or repair the harness? What is the BMW part number of the wiring harness that typically fails?

If anyone else knows, please chime in. Thanks!
