Just installed the SmartTOP
Installation and testing took about an hour because I went slow and careful. The LED stayed solid at first, but having read numerous thread about this before, I knew some of the pins weren't making good connections (despite the connectors looking pretty solidly connected). So I unplugged the connectors and replugged them back in. Worked the 2nd time Then my OCD got the best part of me and I open it up again and replaced the old sticky velcro that it came with (it was a used unit) with some fresh ones. Second time around took less than 15 minutes.
I'm loving the one-touch top open/close The rest of the features are pretty great too, especially since I don't have CA. I left the option to open/close top while moving disabled because I don't have the reinforced hydraulics introduced in 2012 and don't want to risk damages.

SmartTop was the best mod I did on my E93s and E89s. I had them installed within the first week! I can't drive the car without it; it drives me crazy
