I'm pretty disappointed with the reveal. It's $150k+ while still not matching the Model S range. I thought this was going to be starting under $100k. It's basically overpriced and under performs. People on Rennlist are getting their deposits back for the Model S. You know Porsche dropped the ball when that happens.

Same, I was expecting it to be quicker as well. Not totally surprised the P100D the quicker to 60, but it's strange that even their own Panamera is quicker
Goddamn it does look good though

I believe they will be offering their base model in the future which will be sub 100K as these are nice but at the top end of the market.
If only BMW could compete and build a sleek 4door EV, but ofcourse they took the big SUV route, so predictable. |

Also, what's with the turbo moniker? They should have came up with something else to name higher end models.

They are trying to keep the modeling the same as the other prod cars I suppose to define model levels and expectations.

Porsche knows what they're doing, and unlike Tesla they know how to turn a profit. As for the Turbo moniker, that adheres to tradition and resonates with consumers. What else would they have named it?

The Model S definitely has its redeeming qualities, but with sales at their lowest level since 2013 (right after its launch) things aren't looking great. Model 3 cannibalized its sales and the Taycan will steal some more.

750 hp is a lot. 5100+ lbs is a shit-ton.

Pretty disappointed. Price and weight are equally bloated. Not even going to compete in the same stratosphere as the Model S.
To be fair, interior and exterior fit and finish as well as quality of materials should be leagues above Tesla. But not $50k+ better. |
