Looking to Buy Z4sdrive35i or sdrive35is - But Not Without Warranty - Advice?
Hey guys I'm looking to get back into a Z4, but I won't own one w/out a warranty. I have a few questions.
Anyone know the price range of extending the factory warranty through BMW? Any good (U.S.) aftermarket warranties out there that are trustworthy? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Not in a hurry to buy. FWIW, looking to spend less than $30k. Thanks. Last edited by HEY32G; 05-26-2020 at 07:36 PM.. |

I just got my Z4 and currently shopping for a mechanical repair insurance. BMW offers extended warranty via some insurance company. They quoted $3620 on 36 months/36000 miles with $250 deductible which I think is expensive. I called Endurance, Carchex, and Carshied get some more quotes.
But your quotes will depend on what year and mileage you have so call them. But for me, I got the best quote from Carshield with no mileage limits. Good luck on your car hunting. I love my Z4 and so will you! |

My 2016 Z4 goes out of warranty next week, but I bought the BMW Vehicle Service Contract (extended warranty) last week. The price was very reasonable and was discounted by BMW this month as well. My car is pretty low mileage (12k miles) which probably contributed to the lower cost. No deductible either. The warranty was with BMW - not a third party. BMW NA issues the warranty.
It may be hard to get an accurate quote from a dealer unless you have an actual car in mind. However, perhaps you could find something you want at a dealer which could offer the CPO warranty with the car, which would solve the problem. |

I got mine through Carmax with their extended warranty. BMW accepts it. The warranty already paid itself off twice

After doing comparisons I found CarShield to be the best coverage for the best cost.
For $2200 I got a 4 year up to 75,000 miles. Their best policy which is pretty much bumper to bumper. I was surprised that they would do a "Platinum Policy" on a ten year old car for a reasonable cost. (my car has 40,000 miles) I'm not normally a big fan of extended warranties but with a twin turbo, DCT and folding hardtop I think it makes a lot of sense. |
