I saw a guy try to show off in g35 the other day flooring it in a intersection turning left with TC off I asume. He spun his car and hit the curb and was facing opposite way. Not that it has anything to do with G being a bad car just thought I share the story. Too many kids driving used Gs in my town.

great value car but the car is nose heavy and the trunk is amazing small.

infinity is a car you can enjoy but bmw is a car you respect and enjoy.

It's very reliable, and also minimal maintenence cost.

I would say it looks quite good on the outside too, and the car is a great value. However, because of this, you see soo many of them out on the street. Also they have better/more technology inside, but however the interior looks is still below BMW. They just don't look as luxurious, despite they probably are better.

For the coupe, backseats are a joke. I can actually fit two 6 ft friends in my 335i coupe, but their legs would be stuck in the G37 backseats. One of the major complaints from me.

Other than that, not too much fault on a G37. Great car.

Two weeks ago I was making the same comparison between a g37 and a 335i xdrive m-sport.

I was almost set on purchasing a g37 because it is undoubtedly a better deal.
However, I had some specific needs.

I need 4-wheel drive, but also want 6mt. The g37 6mt comes in rear-wheel drive only, so that was a no go: but really who can argue with a 43k sticker price for a fully loaded car. It just seems to me that the g37 has way more standard items.

Objectively, I think my 335i m-sport will look better than a g37s, but thats with the 3k m-sport pkg. For a 10k premium i have a car with four-wheel drive, and decently loaded (just doesn't have idrive). Navigation simply isn't important to me since I use my Droid when I need it, but if it is for you then the g37 is a good choice. Financially the 335i doesn't make too much sense.

In comparison I believe the 335i interior is superior in terms of quality. The dashboard seems classier and more thought out, but the g37 isn't bad.

My friends g37x is a great car, but after I test drove it I wanted to check out the rear seats for a short drive. I WOULD HAVE RATHER BEEN WATERBOARDED. I'm 6foot 175, not big at all, and I wouldn't consider myself claustrophobic, but that was a terrifying experience. Forget not having anywhere to put your legs, but with a sunroof, there was nowhere to put my head. I was bending it like I was in a house made for midgets. If you don't like your friends, stick them back there for a ride longer than 30 minutes.

I came from a 2005 g35 coupe, sport, navi, 6mt. It was a nice car however my 3'er is much better. Better handling, razor sharp steering. The G always felt heavy or lazy for lack of better words. Loved that VQ35 motor and exhaust sound tho

well I decided to stick wit the 335, but it is going in the shop AGAIN next monday for a fuel pump, brake clicking noise and valve cover oil. G37's are nice but very boring. I think they do handle better thou or atleast handle in a different numb sorta way.

Two years ago, I was looking at the 335 vs g37 coupe and went with the G37. it mainly came down to finance. The G was over $8k cheaper and had .9% APR. Performance wise the bimmer will hit the curve tighter than the G37. The G has more techie stuff than the 335i and very liable. All I did was changed the oil on this car the two years I had it. MPG is pretty bad. All I get was 20MPG and that is driving pretty conservatively.

To present date, I just sold my G37 and is now awaiting delivery of the 335. can't wait

Why not lease the G37 IPL Coupe fully loaded. I understand people's complaints about the trunk, but it's not nearly as funny as people laughing at the spare tire I have in the back of my bimmer getting in the way of a set of clubs. Either way the cars listed are nice; you can't beat the warranty on the Infiniti of course if you buy.

I was just curious. It's really different strokes for different folks in this regard. I had a G37 as a loaner while my wife's car was in the shop and I felt like it was softer then my e92 (which I feel is well planted). Then again, it was a base model and didn't have the sport suspension as my bimmer does, so that would probably make a huge difference.

My biggest complaint on the G37 was road noise though... It was super loud at highway speeds.

Been in my friend's 350Z and you're right. SUPER DUPER loud! But I'd expect that out of a Nissan

I had an Altima and it was loud as well. I just expected more from a "luxury" Infiniti sedan.

I DO still love the VQ engine line though. Bulletproof.

I was between a 370Z and the 335i. The 370Z is a lot of fun, very exciting but the road noise is killer. According to a review I read, the air extractors are somewhat to blame - they are not shielded properly from noise:

Those 19" low profile tires don't help either.

Everybody's different, but the insurance for me on the 370Z was very high, much more so than the BMW.

My thoughts on the G37 - never drove one, but it is very popular and has good reliability. Great exhaust note. There are a ton of them on the road, however, so it's not all that unique. I think the BMW 3 looks much sharper.

That's about all I can get it down to. get inside one, drive it around and throw some passengers in it too.

With passengers in the car
1. light cruising driving
2. then hammer it, madman downtown Dukes of Hazzard fierce
3. then go on the freeway to determine in-cabin noise/comfort

Talk to your passengers while performing the drive.


Jump back into the B'mer and repeat.

You'll get an answer for yourself soon enough.

It's not a science. The dogfers with the pencils behind their ears have gotten that part figured out. The "Joy" category is left to you and I. So, talk to your passengers, talk to yourself and then figure it out.

I had my B6A4 with 300+hp for 8 years + a few days. I loved that car to death. But ultimately, it was too much. I didn't have the time to perform maintenance and wear/tear repairs anymore. I completely understand your frustration with your car always in the shop. It's like you're paying for someone else's problem.

I opted for a Hyundai Tucson, 18K with all options/packages + Hyundai dealerships groveling at your feet (the last part was awkward and unsightly), but all part of the experience I presume. Anyway, I was going to pull the trigger on that car, but I didn't. So here I am.

Go get em'

I'd probably choose the g37. I'm old, slow, and redneck. So knowing me, i'd choose less fighting and more comfort. Then again, that's me.

GL either way

i have sat in the G's rear seat.... the e92 is an escalade compared to the back of an s5 or g37. seriously the 335 has way more rooom.
