Small part search is wearing me out

2011 Z4 sDrive 35is. About a foot under the front bumper is a small rubber dam, maybe two feet long that hangs down about two inches along it's entire length. Looks like maybe it's a rock or spray deflector. Held in by three screws.

Mines torn on one end, and needs replacing. I've searched the illustrated parts breakdowns to no avail, all I'm coming up with is the much larger underbody shield.

Anybody have any idea on a part number, or what to call the damn thing? It's a weekend sunny day car, and I'd just remove it, but I'm concerned it may be a rock deflector...

It's BMW's pathetic attempt at an underbody aero aid. I tore the remnants of mine off years ago and never looked back!

Thanks Paris, if that's the case it's coming off. I was mostly concerned it was shielding a vulnerable component...should have known -

The front ends of these cars are vulnerable enough to curb/driveway damage without hanging an additional 2" of plastic off the underside!

Thanks Gerry, that sure looks like a winner, but it's coming off until I see a compelling need for a replacement.

I rolled up on a moose standing in the middle of the road with the top down and my wife in the passenger seat year before last. They're more common here than you'd think possible. Between that, the herds of deer and flocks of turkey I try hard to keep my speed under the benefit-of-ground-effect threshold...

Yeah, I can understand that position. It's not cosmetic as you have to be almost on the ground to see it and as you say, it's aero benefit is not compelling for most drivers.

Well, as it turns out it's a good thing I don't need a replacement. Got down and removed the damaged piece, which was a two minute job. It's all there, just badly torn...
Anyway, the part # off the original is 51 75 7 207 941, which turns out to be unobtainium. None of the usual go-to BMW parts places returned a hit. Google image search turned up two places, both in Russia, so I think I'll pass. If I get really bored maybe I'll try to reconstruct it with two-part epoxy. I mean, hugely bored.

I found the same state of disrepair first time around and, as I recall, repaired it with gorilla tape (or something like that). When it failed again some time later, I just said screw it and removed it for good.

Interesting. Searching your PN above in realoem.com takes me to the page for the front spoiler with the PN I listed above with no cross-reference. Perhaps your PN is a supplier number (If BMW changed the PN, it usually shows in realoem with a reference 'superseded by xxxxx'.) Note that the first 2 digits and last 4 are the same. It's possible that BMW changed the parts breakdown structure between initial parts procurement and publishing the the final TIS.

The PN 51117207941 is available from a number of places for ~$110-$125.

That piece of rubber was hanging down on my Z4 a few years ago so I tore the rubber off and hadn’t even thought about it until I read this post.
