ID4Motion Info and Install

Hello friends. Today I was working in my garage and decided to plug in my ID4Motion cluster just to make sure it powered on okay and to update the firmware if needed and install the additional themes I had purchased.

I ran into an issue during the initial setup, as the e89 is not listed. B21, any suggestions? It starts with the e90 and progresses from there.

Wrong firmware..should say E89..well mine did

Thank you. Would it be possible to select e90, go thru the setup, then install their latest firmware update and go thru the setup again so I can select e89? Of course I’m assuming e89 would be an option after all that.

I’m not sure how the firmware links to both the vin and the model code..you can try it..

Where does it say E90?

When entering setup, you select the country, then the model. That menu started with the e90 and progressed from there. I did continue on, selected petrol/gasoline, then left hand drive but backed out to the beginning. I may have that order mixed up. I toggled thru the model options several times just to make sure I hadn’t missed e89.

I did email ID4Motion so will wait for their reply. I won’t be happy if I need to return this cluster.

Unless there’s some specific h/w feature on E90 which I doubt they should be able to ‘virginise’ it..I hoof ..IMHO

Thank you. I did hear from them and they sent me a firmware update. I just find it interesting my cluster is labeled e89, but doesn’t have the correct firmware installed.

I’ll give it a try after work today.

Yup looks like an E89 LHD module

Success! ID4Motion emailed me a feature update. After uploading the update the e89 model code was available.

I didn’t complete the setup but did try out a few themes.

Thus far I have purchased:

Atmos Orbit
Plasma Orbit
Royal Legacy Rigid Rival
Magma Rush

Unfortunately no yellow themes. Yet.

Now that the weather has warmed up I will get started with the cluster install next week.
